A poet and a dancer, each on the brink of despair, encounter the personifications of Life and Death in this poetic one-act drama. As love blossoms between them, Life and Death play a high-stakes game to decide their fate, exploring the value of hope, creativity, and the human spirit.

- Life Gender Traditionally Female, but can be any gender The embodiment of Life itself Compassionate, emotional, hopeful, and fiercely protective of human potential Life sees beauty in people and believes love is worth fighting for, even when the odds seem impossible She is constantly trying to bend the rules without quite breaking them Playing Age Ageless Notes Requires warmth, charisma, and strong dialogue delivery More strategist than saint
- Dancer Typlically a Female role, A talented young dancer who feels isolated and misunderstood Graceful, expressive, and searching for connection Like the Poet, she has reached a point where she questions whether life is worth continuing Playing Age Late teens to early 30s Notes Does not necessarily require formal dance training, depending on the production, but movement ability is helpful
- Poet Typically a male role, A gifted young poet whose heartbreak has driven him to despair Idealistic, passionate, dramatic, and deeply romantic He believes life has lost meaning after losing the woman he loved Playing Age Late teens to early 30s Notes Requires emotional range and heightened language
