Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia

About The Studio Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council

The Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council Inc (SHYAC) is a non-profit volunteer-based incorporated association that started in 1991 with the purpose of providing opportunities for regional youth to participate in the arts, especially theatre and related performing arts.

More than just theatre skills, SHYAC offers friendship, emotional growth, confidence, teamwork, patience, and joy. We celebrate connection, creativity, outreach, and community. We embrace learning, discovery, and personal development while providing a safe and vibrant environment for our young performers to grow.
We do this with the dedication of adult tutors, our production teams and volunteers who give countless hours to assist with mentoring and organisation, to ensure our youth experience the magic of theatre in a positive and exciting way.

SHYAC holds Drama Clubs four terms a year, multiple shows (musicals and plays) for primary, teen and combined age productions, as well as school holiday workshops.
