What To Know About This Production

Wit examines end-of-life during ongoing medical treatment through the eyes of Vivian Bearing—an accomplished 17th-century poetry professor undergoing experimental cancer treatments.

The script contains deeply challenging themes around medicine and mortality and human connection. The director's goal is for our audiences to feel and ponder the marriage of intellect and emotion as they come away from this story: such that the heartful person might find a greater love for the intellectual, and the brainy person might find a stronger logic behind the caring.

Auditions will happen in two parts. For the lead role of Vivian only, the audition will require a 2-3 minute monologue and will be scheduled for February 1st. Auditions for all other roles will be open cold reads starting at 6pm on February 15th and 16th.
