What To Know About This Production
Book, Music and Lyrics by Richard O’Brien
When newly engaged sweethearts Brad and Janet are stranded by a flat tire during a storm, they seek shelter in a mysterious nearby castle — only to find themselves in the lair of the seductive Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his motley crew of wild characters. As their innocence gives way to a night of pansexual fluidity, cabaret, and rebellion, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: the muscular "Rocky." Complete with audience participation, cascading toilet paper, and a rocking score, this deliberately kitschy sci-fi gothic musical is a cult classic that has been thrilling audiences for over fifty years.
“A socko wacko weirdo rock concert.” – WNBC TV
“A musical that deals with mutating identity and time warps becomes one of the most mutated, time-warped phenomena in show business.” – The New York Times
“Campy trash.” – Time
One of the “10 most influential postwar British plays.” – Guardian UK
Recommended for ages 16 and up

What To Expect At Auditions
Please prepare a song (approximately 32 bars, or 60–90 seconds of music) in the style of the show. Songs from the show are welcome but not required. We're looking for songs that showcase your vocal range and understanding of the style.
Auditions will be held at Cecil College's Elkton Station Campus, located at 107 Railroad Ave. Elkton, MD 21921. They will be in the Performing Arts Hall (Room 138).

An accompanist will be provided for your audition, and their use is highly encouraged. If you choose not to use the provided accompanist, you must bring a backing track (without vocals) to play during your performance. Please note amplification will not be provided, and playing backing tracks off a cell phone (without proper additional amplification) is strongly discouraged.
Video submissions will be acepted until Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00pm. Please select the 6:55pm time slot labeled Video Auditions when submitting your form.
Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, July 28th, from 6pm – 9:45pm. Callback notifications will be sent out by Thursday, July 24th, at 6pm.
Rehearsals for The Rocky Horror Show will begin in early August. Rehearsals will be based on both performer and production staff availability, so please submit all known conflicts at the time of auditions. The Milburn Stone Theatre traditionally rehearses between 2 to 4 times a week.
Tech week for The Rocky Horror Show will be held Sunday, October 11th, through Thursday, October 15th. No conflicts will be accepted during this week.
The Milburn Stone Theatre is a community theatre on a college campus. Our productions are open to the entire community, not just Cecil College students, faculty, and staff. This production is non-paid/non-union.
All roles are available for audition. Listed ages are ranges, not requirements. While we encourage everyone to audition for any role, our Concord Theatricals agreement requires all characters to be performed as originally written.
The ages listed should be the ages that actors can play/appear on stage; however, only 18+ will be considered for The Rocky Horror Show.
