What To Know About This Production
The People Vs Mr Wolfe is an original dark comedy musical that puts Mr Wolfe on trial for his crimes against the fairytale world.
Set in a chaotic modern courtroom where storybook favourites collide, the musical explores what really happened between Mr Wolfe and the citizens of Grimmsville. As witnesses take the stand, long-buried secrets, conflicting perspectives, and unexpected truths begin to unravel.
Blending comedy, satire, drama, and powerful contemporary musical theatre, The People Vs Mr Wolfe challenges the idea of heroes, villains, and who gets to control the narrative.
With eccentric characters, emotionally charged moments, and plenty of theatrical chaos, this original production offers performers the opportunity to bring iconic fairytale figures to life in bold and unexpected ways.

Cast List For The People Vs Mr Wolfe
Available Roles
- Mr Kurt Wolfe The villages notorious Big Bad Wolf, at least, according to everyone else Quiet, guarded and intimidating at first glance, Wolfe is a deeply compassionate man who has spent a lifetime being judged by appearances and blamed for the misfortunes of others
- Scarlett Hoode A confident young influencer who has built a life around being seen, liked and followed Beneath the carefully curated image, Scarlett is deeply afraid of being forgotten, and her pursuit of attention ultimately forces her to confront the consequences of the story she helped create
- Ms Lockes The formidable prosecuting lawyer with a reputation for winning Sharp, confident and relentless, Ms Lockes knows exactly how to control a courtroom and shape a narrative, and she has no intention of letting Mr Wolfe break her winning streak
- Ms Renard Mr Wolfes defence lawyer Intelligent, compassionate and principled, Ms Renard genuinely believes her client is innocent, but defending a man who has seemingly given up on defending himself tests both her patience and her ability to make the truth heard
- Justice Gander The presiding judge in Mr Wolfes trial An established figure of authority who strives to maintain order in an increasingly theatrical courtroom, Gander may not be quite as immune to the opinions of the village as a judge ought to be
- Haris Ghannan The latest generation entrusted with his familys sheep farm and painfully aware of the reputation that comes with it Proud and defensive, Haris is quick to point the finger at Mr Wolfe rather than acknowledge that he may not quite have everything under control
- Mason Maiale The most sensible and empathetic of the three Maiales siblings While his siblings are quick to condemn Mr Wolfe for the destruction of their homes, Mason is less certain that the villages favourite villain is really responsible
- Hayley Maiale The sharp, tech-savvy and pragmatic Maiale sibling Intelligent and somewhat emotionally detached, Hayley approaches problems logically, although her conclusions may not always be as objective as she believes
- Kai Maiale The gentle, spiritual and free-spirited member of the Maiales trio Kai prefers harmony over confrontation and tends to follow the lead of the stronger personalities around them, even when something doesnt quite feel right
- Nancy Kidman A loving but overwhelmed single mother of seven children Fiercely protective and determined to appear capable, Nancy would rather blame Mr Wolfe for what happened to her children than admit that perhaps she needed help
- Ruby Hoode Scarletts grandmother and the woman who raised her Warm, grounded and quietly perceptive, Ruby knows Scarlett better than anyone and isnt afraid to challenge her when needed
- Mrs Wolfe Mr Wolfes childhood sweetheart and late wife, seen through memories of their life together Warm, courageous and stubbornly optimistic, she was the first person to look beyond Wolfes intimidating exterior and simply see him Their enduring love shaped the man he became, and her loss shaped the man standing trial
- Bailiff Court Clerk The ever-present hand of courtroom order, assisting Justice Gander and keeping proceedings moving, even when the trial threatens to descend into chaos
- Public Gallery The curious, excitable and ever-watchful eyes of the village Part courtroom spectators, part relentless paparazzi, they feed on gossip, scandal and spectacle, helping turn Mr Wolfes trial into the event everyone is talking about
- Dance Ensemble A versatile movement ensemble appearing throughout the production to bring the village, memories and musical numbers to life through energetic and expressive choreography
- Jury Choir The jury deciding Mr Wolfes fate, and the musical voice of the courtroom A vocal ensemble whose harmonies, reactions and shifting opinions reflect the communitys uncertainty over one question Did he or didnt he
- Child Dance Ensemble Nancy Kidmans seven lively children, whose boundless energy helps explain exactly why their exhausted mother has her hands full Primarily dance-based roles woven into Nancys story May also be seen in other stories
