Auditions For Into the Woods
What To Expect At Auditions
Students are expected to have learnt the appropriate song selection for the characters they wish to audition for. They will be asked to intially sing a section of the song. You should sing the selection in character.
If the production team need to see more you will be asked to attend a call back.

Available Roles
- Baker A harried and insecure baker who is simple and loving, yet protective of his family He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness but refuses to let others fight his battles
- Narrator A young boy who reads the stories whilst imagining them in his head. It is his world that we see.
- Bakers Wife Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother She leads a simple yet satisfying life and is very low maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors
- Witch Sarcastic, ugly then-gorgeous, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive
- Cinderella A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters
- Jack The feckless giant killer who is almost a man He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed
- Jacks Mother Browbeating and weary, Jacks protective mother who is independent, bold, and strong-willed
- Little Red Riding Hood A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-witted, fearless, yet youthful and naive
- Stepmother The mean-spirited, demanding stepmother of Cinderella
- Florinda Cinderellas stepsisters who are black of heart They follow in their mothers footsteps of abusing Cinderella
- Lucinda Cinderellas stepsisters who are black of heart They follow in their mothers footsteps of abusing Cinderella
- Wolf 1 Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey
- Wolf 2 Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey
- Cinderellas Mother Deceased with her soul guarding and aiding her daughter from a tree
- Cinderellas Father Out of touch with his family but harmless and well-meaning
- Granny Little Reds feisty, knife-wielding grandmother
- Steward A man servant who is used to doing whatever he has to solve a problem His only care is to please his master or the strongest personality in the room Conniving, callous and cowardly
- Cinderellas Prince Vain and gorgeous, he is a disloyal lover who is currently searching for the next new, exciting thing
- Rapunzels Prince Just as vain and gorgeous as his Prince brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exciting endeavor
- Rapunzel A loopy-but-lovely maiden who is sheltered by the Witch and terribly lonely She yearns to experience the world
- Giant (Voice Only) Voiceover role The Giant is a vengeful monster seeking restitution for the murder of her husband
- Snow White Appears at the end of the show with a prince
- Sleeping Beauty Appears at the end of the show with a prince
- Ensemble Additional Fairy Tale Characters who journey through the woods
- Mysterious Man A mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler He is a good-natured protector and observer
- Milky White Jack's pet cow. Milky White is a puppet and this role is for someone to puppeteer her. You should be able to emote through facial expressions and body language.
