Raised as one of Santa's elves, Buddy has always felt different. When he learns he is actually a human who accidentally ended up at the North Pole as a baby, he travels to New York City to find his birth father and discover where he truly belongs. Along the way, Buddy's boundless optimism, childlike wonder, and Christmas spirit transform the lives of everyone around him while helping his family rediscover the meaning of the holiday season.

- Walter Hobbs Gender male Age 50s to 60s Vocals baritone (Vocal rage A2-G4) Buddys workaholic father He is a Childrens book writer, but lacks any of the childlike spirit that Buddy has He is selfish, tense, and generally angry with life
- Emily Hobbs Gender female Age 40s to 50s Vocals Alto or a Mezzo-Soprano (Vocal range F3-Eb5) Walters wife Though she is sweet and willing to take him in, she thinks Buddy is crazy at first Wishes her husband would spend more time with the family
- Michael Hobbs Gender male Age 10 to late teens Vocals Tenor (Vocal range G5-F3) Buddys stepbrother who is excited to have a new friend and brother Unlike his mother, he doesnt take much convincing to have Christmas spirit, but like his mother, he wishes his father would spend more time with the family
