What To Expect At Auditions
🎭 Auditions for Little Shop of Horrors

Performance Dates: October 9 – November 1, 2026
🌱 What to Prepare
16–32 bars of a musical theatre song (up-tempo or comedic preferred)
Bring sheet music in the correct key (an accompanist will be provided)
Be prepared for a short cold read from the script
Wear comfortable clothing for a brief movement/dance call
🎤 Vocal Expectations
Strong pitch accuracy and rhythm
Ability to harmonize (especially for Urchins)
Clear diction and storytelling
Comfort with character-driven singing (comedy + sincerity)
🎭 Acting Expectations
Big, bold character choices
Strong comedic timing
Physical commitment (this show is high-energy and stylized)
Ability to take direction and adjust quickly
💃 Movement Expectations
Willingness to move confidently and with character
Basic musical theatre movement skills
No advanced dance training required, but rhythm is important
🌟 Rehearsal & Commitment Expectations
Full commitment to the 4-week October run
Consistent rehearsal attendance (conflicts must be listed at auditions)

🩸 Special Notes
Some roles require stage combat–style physical comedy (safe, choreographed).
The role of Audrey II involves puppetry and/or voice work — performers must be comfortable with technical coordination.
